Re: Warm Starting Issues

Do you have a pressure tester? Essential kit Leaky injectors is another possibility, if one injector drips after shutdown, the system loses its rest pressure and floods the engine enough to cause hard restart If it's neither that or what Mark said, then there is also a non return valve in the meteri...

Re: Top end rebuild. Opportunity for performance upgrades?

I would recommend some basic cleaning up of the inlet port casting around the valve seats

Re: Electrical Gremlins All Over

Can't help with specifics but don't forget basics, check primary charging, battery positive and negative circuits, they are usually deteriorated by now... any corrosion or high resistance in main ground cable especially where it meets chassis and engine can cause all sorts of problems. Plus look at ...

Re: Ignition servicable parts questions

The only thing to watch out for is buying the correct combination of HT lead terminals, where they connect the coil, distributor cap, and spark plug tops. Earlier distributor caps used DIN socket connections, and later use the M4 pin type and they are not compatible

Re: Weber 32/34 cleaning jets

The beauty of this type of Weber is that you can access most of the important jets by just removing the air filter housing off the top. Each venturi has a main jet/air corrector/emulsion tube assembly which is removed as one piece. My advice- first place a clean cloth in the carb venturis to stop an...

Re: Burnt out multi-plug (fuel pump feed)

Very creative. I don't think it would affect the ignition circuit. But the other way around, if the relay doesn't see a coil pulse signal it won't run the fuel pump. Old part number for relay relocate harness mentioned in this thread was 171 971 761 B but unlikely still available. Lots of info on ot...

extreme heat and violence should do it. failing that, carefully cut a slot on the outside to open up, then cold chisel off

Re: Cold Start Issue

no need to post the same thing 3 times

I'd recommend you to get a fuel pressure tester. you should check the operation of the cold start injector and thermo time switch. lots online about this stuff

this might be useful too:

Re: Odd water leak

Hi James, ideally you need to replace the entire rubber seal, but if you bring this to autoglass or similar they will inject a bead of this stuff which works well: https://www.frost.co.uk/black-windscreen-sealer/
